Carbo Loading
This is a practice in where we try to load up the rooster being conditioned with additional carbohydrates usually done about 3 days before the fight. The reason behind this is that during the day of the fight, most of the roosters will hardly get much feed and we want to make sure that the needed energy will be available.

Carbohydrates are normally stored in 2 ways, the first way is through storage in the muscles and liver and this type of stored sugar or energy is called glycogen.
Once the natural glycogen stores are filled, the additional carbohydrates are then stored through the second method which is fat deposition.
For our gamebirds we don't like to have high body fat to the extent that they develop thick belly fat or "sapola".
Having minimal stores of fat often occurs in the rooster's body and the advantage of this type of stored energy is that it is more readily available than glycogen.
