Crop Bound

Many gamebird raisers have problems with crop bound or indigestion. Often times this is due to the practice of soaking the grains we use for a very long time, usually half a day. This practice causes the increase in bacterial population and subsequent fermentation. If the rooster is highly stressed they tend to have indigestion.
When birds are in this condition, we must stop feeding them and just supply them with fresh clean water that can be fortified with vitamins. You can give them sodium bicarbonate once in the morning and once in the afternoon for 3 days. It is also helpful to give them probiotics during this period. When the rooster starts digesting, feed them chick feed at small amounts, dont put grains. Return them to their usual feed after 3 days of normal digestion.
