Egg Care

Many breeders take egg care for granted. When you look at the eggs they set in the incubators, often times you will see them soiled or dirty. This is the beginning of our gamebirds and this stage is very susceptible to disease.
The eggs are not solid structures but contain microscopic openings which allow passage of air and also entrance of bacteria and viruses.
Cleaning and disinfection of eggs is a good practice but the best thing to do is to collect the eggs as soon as they are laid so that the eggs will be naturally clean. Make sure to have clean hands and prepare clean egg trays and store the eggs pointed side down to maintain the integrity of the air cell.
