Dubbing
It is very common that roosters that are being fought are dubbed or their wattles and comb are surgically removed. This is done for a couple of reasons:1) To make the head a smaller target
2) So that the other rooster can't hold on to the wattles or comb
3) To prevent the comb from obstructing the rooster's vision
4) To remove the excess weight that these structures may cause.
Often times, I receive questions on when is the right age to do this procedure. I always give one answer, only dubb your stags if when sparred he does not quit anymore. This is an assurance that the stag is brave enough to under go this procedure.
I would recommend giving supplemental vitamins C, B Complex, and K. 1 week before and repeat 3 days before dubbing. The best time to do this is late afternoon so that it won't be too hot and stressful. Some breeders also give hemostats to minimize bleeding.

Doc paul, ok lang ba na i spar yong manok pagkatapos pungusan?
Many gamebird raisers do this after dubbing this is to ensure that the rooster was not too traumatized that it will loose its braveness or gameness. This practice is ok as long as the bleeding has stopped.
Thnks n gud day!
